Comments/Problems:

The installation image fails to boot. I don't get any console output
at all. It looks like the screen resolution is about to change or
something like that, because some elements of the boot screen gets
duplicated in what kind of looks like a smaller console window within
the boot screen (that's the best explanation I can give you).

I managed to get Ubuntu 24.10 installed and working by using its 'safe
graphics' option. It contains the following boot parameters:

set gfxpayload=keep
linux .../vmlinuz nomodeset --- (I removed 'quiet splash' from here
before booting)
initrd .../initrd

I tried the same parameters with the Debian Installer media but it
didn't work at all. It would be nice to have something similar, at
least for the non-graphical install, to get some kind of console
output instead of only the frozen graphical boot screen.

None of the boot parameter suggestions in the installation manual
worked either. I got the feeling that that section of the manual is
somewhat outdated?

Please note that I am definitely not a Grub expert. Any suggestions to
get the installation to at least boot would be highly appreciated. As
a thank you, I will send more installation reports. :-)

This report was manually written in gmail web client. I apologize for
any and all formatting chaos.

Kind regards

Hi, Mikael,
(...)

Do you confirm you can see the UEFI installer boot menu (GRUB) ?
If yes, what happens if you select Advanced > Expert install ?

Hi, sorry for late answer.

Yes, the Grub boot menu loads and works as it should. The problem seems to
be when the kernel or initrd is loaded, or shortly thereafter during
initial startup. When I select the menu option to install, it looks like
the screen resolution is about to change, then the computer completely
freezes.

I will try using today's (2025-02-19) daily image in a while, will try
using expert mode. Do you want me to continue reporting how that image
works in this bug report, or shall I submit a completely new installer
report?

Kind regards,
Micael

Yes please. "Expert install" will boot the kernel without the "quiet"
parameter and hopefully make it display more messages before it freezes.

OK, so it freezes after only 2 lines of console output when using the
Expert install option in the 2025-02-19 daily Installer image (photo of the
screen is attached):

EFI stub: Loaded initrd from LINUX_EFI_INITRD_MEDIA_GUID device path
EFI stub: Measured initrd data into PCR 9

The iso image file was written to an USB memory stick using the dd command
in an Ubuntu installation on the same computer.
