Comments/Problems:

1) I chose the Italian language but on the next screen there
    was the warning about incomplete translations. I found
https://d-i.debian.org/l10n-stats/ where level1 e level3
    are at 100% but level2 is at 098%. Is this the reason?
    I'm curious because I did a Xfce installation with manual
    partitioning and there was no question in English. :-)
    But maybe other users are scared away.

2) During manual partitioning I created an ESP as this is
    an (U)EFI system. I expected I needed to configure the
    mount point /boot/efi but it seems there is no way to do
    it - and everything works without it. :-)  Is this mount
    point configured automatically because it's always the
    same for an ESP? If yes, could the partitioner show it
    anyway in the overview page?

3) I did this installation for a friend of mine and after
    booting in the installed system I wanted to show her how
    easy it is in principle to install the security updates
    and the like by using synaptic. But clicking on "Reload"
    there was immediately an error about the DVD indexes. I
    "solved" this by commenting out the following line in
    /etc/apt/sources.list:

    deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 12.8.0 _Bookworm_ - Official
    amd64 DVD Binary-1 with firmware 20241109-11:05]/ bookworm
    contrib main non-free-firmware

    Is the line present because it's about a DVD and not a
    netinst? If yes, is it expected to have always at hand

     So the resolution of the display is 1920x1080. It is
     nice to have modern hardware but here this results in
     too small menu items and text in the toolbar of the
     Xfce desktop at the top of the screen. We found the
     following workaround: lowering the Resolution in the
     menu item Settings --> Display. Is this the only way
     or is there a better possibility of configuration,
     without loosing the high resolution? Feel free to
     tell me to ask on debian-xfce or debian-user! I'm
     mentioning it here as this could be a show stopper
     for other users.

Yes, the ESP partition is automatically mounted at /boot/efi
for the installed system.

Currently, when installing from a DVD (image), the sources.list
entry for this DVD is left untouched after installation, so it is
expected to have package sources available via DVD for the next
package update.
I think this is intended for use cases, where installation is done
without an active internet connection, so on machines or regions, where
a permanent internet connection is not usual. (Such sort of installation
can work well indeed, if you use a DVD, since that media can store lots
of packages.)

When installing from a netinst image, or a live image, the relevant
sources.list entry is disabled automatically at the end of installation.
For DVDs you need to do this by hand (as you mentioned). Or, when you
use the expert install option, you are asked about this.

The total mail size is almost 400 kB. I guess it is above the mailing
list limit. Maybe this limit should be raised, given that this list
receives bug reports which may contain big attachments such as
installation logs or screenshots ?

Several EFI partitions may be present, only one will be chosen and
mounted on /boot/efi only when the user finishes partitioning and
changes are written to disk. So it would be a bit weird to show the same
mount point for several partitions.

I suspect that nowadays most people use USB sticks as installation media
instead of DVDs. However in my experience apt cannot automatically use a
USB stick because it expects the installation media to be an optical
disc mounted on /media/cdrom, and USB drives are usually mounted in
/media/$USER/ by default.

So maybe the installer should also disable the cdrom entry in
sources.list automatically when the installation media is a USB drive ?
