All of the CCLP level packs included in the newest version of the
package are under a nonfree license that only permit redistribution,
not modification, and thus should not be included in main. This includes
everything in /usr/share/games/tworld, except for intro.dat which is
public domain. Perhaps the CCLP level packs could be moved to non-free.

Hi,

I don"t understand how a later version of the same game
from the same author would suddenly become non free.

The handling of CHIPS.dat  is not there;
that would be a job for game-data-packager,
if someone own this file.

Greetings

## Important Note

Tile World is an emulation of the "Chip's Challenge" game engines only. It does
not come with the CHIPS.dat file that contains the original level set. That
file, which is copyrighted and cannot be freely distributed, was originally
distributed with the MS version of "Chip's Challenge". If you have a copy of
this version of the game, you can use that file to play the original games in
Tile World. If you do not have a copy of this file, however, you can still play
Tile World with the many freely available level files created by fans of the
original game.

Ok I see now docs/CCLP2/disclaimer.txt

We will now ask upstream for clarification.
The best outcome would be that those files would be free too.
Otherwise we'll need to prune them.

Hi,

The original Tile World that was packaged only came with intro.dat, a
small level set designed to introduce the game mechanics. Getting
additional level sets was up to the user.

Now that the Debian package has switched to Tile World 2 (a fork of
Tile World), it comes with the CCLP level packs - these are created by
many different level designers from the Chip's Challenge community, and
are freely distributable but not DFSG-free. I have played these level
packs myself for years, but they never came with the Debian package
until now - I had to download and place them in /usr/share/games/tworld
myself.

The authors of Tile World/Tile World 2 will be of no help here, since
they are not the creators of the CCLP level packs.

As for CHIPS.dat, that is the original level set from Chip's Challenge.
It is not freely distributable and thus has never come with any version
of Tile World or Tile World 2.

Hi all,
Sorry but this didn't jump out at me when reading the License and
Credits sections of README.md.

Newby questions what could be an improvement:
Add Files-Excluded in its d/copyright? and update branches (source,
pristine-tar) with content excluding those files?
Or is it possible to build an extra binary tworld-data-ccpl package in
the non-free/games section by the same packaging
and having a kind of the following rule in the d/copyright?

Files: data/CCLP*.*
License: non-free

Or any other pictures...
