Hello, First, apologies if this is the wrong component. I'm not familiar with the way KDE is arranged or packaged. After installing task-kde-desktop (with apt configured for no-install-recommends), I have SDDM and KDE installed. SDDM presents the choice of two sessions: KDE and KDE (X11). The latter appears to be due to /usr/share/xsessions/plasmax11.desktop which is shipped in plasma-workspace, hence filing against that package. Launching the X11 session results in a desktop, of sorts, with at least one critical thing missing: window decorations. This is due to there being no dependency between plasma-workplace and kwin-x11. I note plasma-workspace depends on kwin-wayland, but not kwin-x11. The bug is presenting a KDE (X11) session as a valid choice if kde-x11 is not installed. I'm not sure what the remedy could be.

I don't really want to reintroduce kwin-x11 as a hard dependency. We could ship the desktop file in a separate plasma-workspace-x11 package, have plasma-workspace recommend it and it depend on kwin-x11, but that seems a bit overkill for shipping a single file.
