Dear Debian cxxtest package maintainers, As the python3.13-only transition is now completed, the usage of python3-distutils shall be completely dropped, Your package still uses CDBS and python-distutils.mk, which is alarming. Please check whether such usage involves distutils, and if possible, migrate to the modern Python packaging infrastructure (dh-sequence-python3). Thanks, Alexandre Detiste
control: severity -1 serious Dear package maintainer, /usr/share/cdbs/1/class/python-distutils.mk will be removed from next upload of CDBS. From this moment cxxtest will start to fail building, please switch the build to maintained dh-python. Greetings Alexandre
Hi Laci, Some of my packages depend on cxxtest, and they are all flagged AUTORM now because of this RC bug. If you need any help getting this fixed in a timely manner, I'm willing to give a hand (though I haven't looked into the problem at all yet).
Hi Feri, It's new to me to be called like this. I got used to "Lati" as Jonathan pronounces it though. :) It's the removal of CDBS, sad that Jonas takes step by step away from Debian. :( There's an updated package, not yet uploaded [1]. If you have time, please check that your packages are still functional with it. Cheers, Laszlo/GCS [1] dget -x https://people.debian.org/~gcs/cxxtest_4.4+git171022-3.dsc

(The original issue of #996394 is also fixed, but the new SyntaxWarnings mentioned in the Graham's comment (invalid escape sequence '\s') are not. I'll probably open a new wishlist bug for that. :)
