Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
I suppose I did nothing unlegal.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I installed the nvidia-driver package with offical source and enabled non-free source.
The installation is successful and no error reported. But After I restarted the computer, the nvidia-smi command went wrong.
By the way,the Debian system is new and fresh. It was installed just one hour ago.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
     Nvidia video card service error.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Nvidia-smi can report exactly how is the video card running condition.

Hi,

What are the exact error messages you are seeing?

Debian 13 (trixie) now has much newer drivers, does the problem still
happen with them?

nvidia-driver | 550.163.01-2
nvidia-tesla-535-driver | 535.261.03-1
