I am not going to get involved in the ITP discussion at this time.

Prior to review I have looked at the upstream repo and see no 1.0.0 tag or
release. Are you intending to create this?

The 'debian' folder in the upstream repo. Will this be removed from the 1.0.0
tag/release and Debian changes be tracked on Salsa only?

Hi,
I have split the debian folder, so that it is included in Salsa,
but not upstream.

Additionally, I have added the 1.0.0 release tag to the upstream repository.
