We need to work with Sanskrit and Pali languages; the fonts-noto-core
package provides Devanagari, Thai and Brahmi script fonts (it is only
the font that provides Brahmi script).

Here is a small issue with Noto Thai fonts version on Debian:
A nikahit symbol (circle symbol above) is rendered, but it overlaps with
vowels above.

This issue has already been fixed in a newer version of these fonts (for
example, in the Noto Sans Thai Looped font):

that I manage to find the time to issue an update of fonts-noto in time
to get included with the upcoming Debian release, due to upstream
restructuring of its codebase (which is a good thing: Eases a much
wanted wish from Debian to be able to build the fonts from source - it
just requires some work to restructure our build routines).

Regardless, I appreciate your filing the bugreport, so we are aware of
the issue and can track its progress.
