No fonts in gtk-dialogs in walc snap application, Android studio snap application fail to start: this happens after I have installed gnome environment for testing purposes (gnome and gnome classic and extension manager for some tricks).
I'm a Xfce4 user.
After removing all gnome packages, snap applications magically all works as before! Why this happens ??? Please help.

I managed to bisect that to installation of fonts-cantarell 0.303.1-4 from unstable. I suspect that the font stack bundled in the „walc” snap, which is using core18 as the base, is unable to handle that font properly. The -4 version has one variable font, while the -1 version has five distinct fonts for bold, extra bold, light, regular and thin variants.

Since you have filed a bug both here and on launchpad, at https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/2105766, I have sent some more updates there.

This case needs more analysis at a level that exceeds my desktop skills. At present I have no idea what to do. Perhaps snapd could generate some configuration file for core18-based snaps, to exclude the fonts it cannot understand, but this is conjecture at this point.

To my untrained eyes (I've never used snaps), this looks like a bug in
the snap that got installed. As far as I know, Debian doesn't ship
snaps, so I think this isn't a Debian bug. (It looks to me that snapd
can't be blamed for broken snaps).
