Dear Maintainer, linphone-desktop currently recommends qt5-gtk2-platformtheme, which is deprecated and has no upstream activity since 2017 [1]. Also, it depends on GTK 2 which reached its end of life in 2020 [2]. Please use qt5-gtk-platformtheme instead (without `2`). Although, there is no need to recommend it explicitly, since libqt5gui5t64 recommends it anyway. I am going to file an RM bug for src:qtstyleplugins-src soon. It is a violation of Debian Policy § 2.2.1 for a package in main to recommend a package that is not in main; therefore, I am raising the severity of this issue. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
Just realised I can't install Linphone on Trixie (only use it when I'm travelling), I'm starting to read up on this. The readme for the current release expressly says it depends on QT6. https://gitlab.linphone.org/BC/public/linphone-desktop/-/blob/master/README.md Will that solve the problem if / when it percolates into Sid? I'll do a fresh install on a dev drive and have a tinker next free weekend. Thanks for the work everyone. Best G
