Hi ftp-master, [Added the moreinfo tag as d-i needs adaptation first and because of the following question.] In bug #1089276 (win32-loader FTBFS) we're discussing the removal of win32-loader from d-i and the archive. As I understand it this package also has BYHAND processing to ensure it ends up at /srv/mirrors/debian/tools/win32-loader. Does this mean we should do more than just removing win32-loader use in d-i and filling of this bug report? Paul
Hi, Am 12. April 2025 13:31:11 MESZ schrieb Paul Gevers <elbrus@debian.org>: It should be made sure, that the files under /mirror/debian/tools/win32-loader remain until bookworm is EOL. And keep the package in bookworm, until that's EOL. Holger
Hi! I'd be really sad to see win32-loader go away. It has been useful to me and others in the past. I'd be happy to take over whichever task is needed to keep having win32-loader in Debian. Please let me know! Bye :)
Hi Andrea, I guess the first task is to figure out what needs to be done. I think you should consult the current maintainers and depending of feedback offer to take over the role of maintainer. Paul
This is correct (obv!). Also please note that this bug will get processed by the ftpteam unless it's marked moreinfo or reassigned. You may consider doing either -- so long as you follow through and take over maintainership/fix the issues for real or pinkey swear to reassign the bug back/remove the tag (actually). Maybe set a deadline and calendar invite as a reminder. Do keep in mind a removal isn't the worst case here since you may always reupload the package to NEW. Paul
I apologize, I take that back. moreinfo is set, I missed that. Most of the point remains, though!
