Description : type-safe functional programming language

Gleam is a friendly language for building type-safe systems that scale.
Gleam is statically-typed and compiles to both JavaScript and BEAM
bytecode, and is able to interop with JavaScript and other BEAM
languages such as Erlang and Elixir. Gleam provides a compiler, build
tool, formatter, editor integrations, and package manager.

The language has generated a sizable interest and an active community.
Availability in Debian would be a nice addition.

I intend to maintain the package with the help of
Yifei Zhan <yifei@zhan.science>. The Rust build dependencies will be
maintained with the help of the Rust team. All other dependencies are
already available in Debian and will be maintained by their respective
maintainers.

Hello Sebastian,

I hope you're doing well.

I've been interested in packaging the Gleam programming language
for Debian. I noticed this ITP has been quiet for about a year.
I've already started mapping out the dependency tree (about 52 missing
and outdated dependencies in total). I'm looking forward to getting
Gleam into the archive.

If you're currently busy or no longer have time to maintain this,
would you mind if I took over? I will keep you updated on the progress.
