Currently, nix

Build-Depends: ... libcpuid-dev [amd64 i386] ...

I've uploaded a version of libcpuid-dev (0.8.0+repack1-0.3) which also
supports x32 and all the ARMs. I'm not sure if it makes sense given
the freeze, but you might want to look into expanding the use of
libcpuid to those architectures.
