I can bring pretty much everything to double size (even scaled the
metal2 theme with imagemagick), but the submenu arrows use a hardcoded
size (checked it with dget in the source).

See image for how bad this looks.

(can be debuild'ed from there). Does it do the job?

Tested briefly with themes of different base icon sizes and styles (gtk,
motif), looked for me okay so far.
