Hello,

After updating to Trixie, I found that Plasma did not show any application in
its start menu or in the task manager (aka. task bar).

Running `update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications -v` fixed the
issue in the start menu, and restarting the Plasma session fixed the task
manager. (Thanks to https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/788512/21419 for the tip)

When updating to trixie yesterday, I got bit by the same bug. Can this
be resolved by some message to the user when upgrading? In my case, the
solution was

  sudo update-desktop-database

which restored the application icons in the launcher.
