   * What led up to the situation? screen saver was activating inconsistently,
so I went to check/confirm the settings.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?  I attempted to open preference for screen saver using
system/menu but did not find a relevant entry, so I attempted to run
/usr/bin/mate-screensaver-preferences
   * What was the outcome of this action?  /usr/bin/mate-screensaver-
preferences segmentation faults.
   * What outcome did you expect instead? /usr/bin/mate-screensaver-
prefernences would bring up an preference screen and let me configure the
screensaver/lock properties.
