Dear Maintainer,

After a recent distribution upgrade, my system no longer resumes from suspend. The screen remains black, requiring a hard reboot.

This is a regression, as the system suspends and resumes correctly when I boot with the older kernel.

Steps to Reproduce:

    Boot with kernel 6.12.38-1.

    Log into the XFCE desktop.

    Suspend the system (e.g., by closing the laptop lid or running systemctl suspend).

    Wake the system.

Expected Result:
The desktop/lock screen should appear and be usable.

Actual Result:
The display remains black and unresponsive.

Working Configuration:
This issue does NOT occur on kernel 6.1.140-1.

System Information:

    Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

    NVIDIA Driver Version: 550.163.01-2

I have attached the full journalctl log from a failed boot (journalctl -b -1). Thank you for your time.

Actually the problem couldn't be triggered using systemctl suspend. It can
be triggered by the following:
- xflock4
- Suspend (from Applications->Log out)
- Hibernate (from Applications->Log out)

But I did notice that when running systemctl suspend and resuming by
logging in, the initial screen has some artifacts.

I was able to fix it by uninstalling the Nvidia driver 550 and installing
driver 535.

   * What led up to the situation? An upgrade from Debian 11/12 to 13
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)? EFFECTIVE: Rolling back the system to Debian 11/12 entirely resolves the issue. On the older kernel (6.1) and older XFCE power manager versions, the system wakes up from suspend perfectly with full display signal.

INEFFECTIVE: Upgrading to Debian 13 (Trixie). Upon waking from suspend on the 6.12 kernel series, the HDMI output to a 58-inch display powered by an Nvidia card loses signal completely, resulting in a permanent "No Signal" black screen. Even standard recovery modes fail to restore a display signal.
