Dear Maintainer, I am missing hydra-gtk in debian/trixie. It is in bookworm and in sid, but strangely not in testing, which is weired. Please add hydra-gtk into trixie as well. Thank you very much! Hans
hydra-gtk depends on libgtk2.0 an, at least since bullseye, old library which was removed with trixie. That's why hydra-gtk is not available any more. See Bug #967532 [1] for further details. You may want to reach out to upstream and convince them to provide a gtk3 or gtk4 version of hydra. Sven [1] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=967532
This is not quite correct, as libgtk2.0-dev is still in trixie. But other libs are not in trixie, see my comment to bug #108842. I could manage to build hydra and xhydra with libs of trixie, but with the disadvantage of some missing protocols. Best build of hydra and xhydra succeeded in kali linux. Best regards Hans
You are right, libgtk2.0-dev and dependencies exist in trixie, I missed it somehow. Still bug #967532 reveals the reason of hydra-gtk's removal. Bug #108842 does not seem to be the reference you intended. Sven
If you see hydra-gtk in sid, it was not garbage collected. It cannot be on amd64 (reported metadata), I have just verified it not to be there. I am closing this because it is intentional and described in the changelog.
