Hi!

This package has a run-time dependency on dpkg-dev, which means the
entire build-essential set gets pulled in.

I quickly checked the source code and I didn't find any reference to
dpkg, so it looks like the dependency is unnecessary?

Sorry, it seems I filed this twice, as I probably didn't see the one
assigned to the source package on the binary package view. Merging
