The same problem occurs in evolution 3.56.1-1 in Debian 13 Trixie.

BTW it isn't helpful that while "reportbug" is installed by default, at
least
in Debian 12 Bookworm it required uninstalled gir1 packages to run the
graphical version.

I asked upstream if this fix could be included in a new 3.56.x release
so that we can more easily get the fix into Debian 13. I am unlikely
to try to fix this issue for Debian 12. There are a lot of bugs that
exist in Debian 12 that are fixed in Debian 13.

I am unable to reproduce that issue with the information you provided.
Please file a separate bug for that issue with more details.

If I provide you updated evolution-data-server binaries for Debian 13,
are you able to test that the binaries fix the issue?

The upstream maintainer does not want to do another 3.56.x release. If
I cherry-pick this fix for Debian 13, I need someone to test that the
fix works. It would save me some work if you could do that testing
instead of me. You can test in a virtual machine instead of installing
Debian 13 directly on your computer.
