The mailfromd package provided by repo delivers unusable binaries :

  $ /usr/sbin/mailfromd -V
  /usr/sbin/mailfromd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/mailfromd: undefined symbol: mu_debug_level_p


I tried to generate a new deb file from source package, and it works :

  $ sudo apt purge mailfromd
  $ cd mailfromd-9.0/
  $ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b
  $ sudo dpkg -i ../mailfromd_9.0-1_amd64.deb
  $ /usr/svbin/mailfromd -V
  mailfromd (mailfromd) 9.0


Could you please undo last changes ?

I can confirm this issue on trixie and sid.

I think that this isn't an issue in the mailfromd source, but in the
dependency on libmailutils.
Maybe some problem with the bin-nmu for time64.
I'm not sure, why the autotests didn't report this issue after
updating libmailutils or doing the bin-nmu.

But when I simply re-build mailfromd 9.0-1 on a current trixie system,
everything is okay.

So I tend to release a new 9.0-2 to sid (primarily a rebuild) and
9.0-1+deb13u1 (only an bin-Update) to trixie for the next point
release.
