Description : Compiler for the slang shading language designed to write high-performance shader code

Slang is a shading langauge and its corresponding compiler.
It aims to enable real-time graphics developers to work with
large-scale, high-performance shader code. Slang compiler can generate
code for a variety of targets: d3d12, vulkan, metal, opengl, cuda.

I intend to pickup the packaging LunarG did before they stopped
delivering it. The versions would be in line with their corresponding
vulkan-sdk releases.

S-Lang (source package is slang2) already exists and is used widespread.
This needs some distinguishing touches and can't reuse the "slang" name
directly.

Are there guidelines as to what is ok to name it? For example I am
thinking of 'shader-slang' instead of 'slang'.

So I just close this ITP and reopen a new one with 'shader-slang'
instead? Or is there a process to rename this?

Best regards
Andreas

It does look as if arch & nix are using shader-slang:

Maybe just retitle the bug?
