Hi Dominic,

I would be interested in helping with libwiki-toolkit-plugin-ping-perl,
following the Package Salvaging procedure outlined in the Developers
Reference[1]. From what I see, the package seems to meet the criteria
for this process, and I'd like to support keeping it maintained in
Debian. As the Salvage process suggests, here is a list of the criteria
that I believe apply:

  - NMU
  - Bug filed against the package do not have answers from the
    maintainer.
  - There are QA issues with the package.

I believe the package would be a great addition to the Debian Perl
Group, and I took the liberty to create a fork of your private
repository here[2]. If you choose not to accept the ITS, its perfectly
fine if you simply take over the MR and upload the fixes inside the
package including the fix for the open bug.  My goal is to make it as
easy as possible for you to join the team.  Since every DD has access to
the perl-team group you can easily access the repository.

Hi, I'm a member of pkg-perl but I specifically didn't add these
(libwiki-toolkit-* and a few others, rdepends only of openguides AFAIK)
to the perl team as they are very niche and only of interest to a tiny
number of users. So I don't think they are worth bothering pkg-perl with.

I will of course address substantive issues with the package but so far
I see only one minor severity issue that failed to get any consensus on
relevance after two years, so I don't think that's a clear signal.

clean with less manual effort from any single maintainer.

The merge request I prepared is ready to go and would handle this
transition seamlessly. I am happy to upload it on the team's behalf or
adapt it for your personal repository if you prefer. This would be a
one-time action for a long-term maintenance benefit.

Would you be willing to give this a try with the libwiki-toolkit
package?
