Dear Maintainer,
I recently find my desktop system crashing with this below message.

I have a crashkernel setup, and attached a dmesg from collected by it.

This happens now always when invoking a make of a wine tree.

And this happened also with the version 6.12.48+deb13-amd64 several times, too.
But that kernel was running flawless between 2025-09-22 and 2025-11-04,
while I was using it exactly the same way.

Except one thing, that may be important:
I experimented with starting make with the "-l","--load-average" parameter,
which starts new tasks just if system load is below some value.

I did this between 2025-09-06 and 2025-09-21, but because it
did not work as expected with Bookworm I stopped it.

I upgraded at 2025-09-22 from Bookworm to Trixie.

And wondered yesterday if "time nice make -j15 -l15" would work
better now with Trixie and started using it again
(which it does from the load perspective).

Therefore I wonder if this crash is a product of
using make with --load-average parameter?

Kind regards,
Bernhard

Hallo Bernhard,

I see you have some xen(?) and vhba traces in the logs you provided.
Does this problem occur in a virtual environment or on the native host?
Can you reproduce the problem without vhba?

Best regards
Uwe
