Dear Maintainer,

als* crashes on Trixie with the following:
"Wide character in setenv at /usr/bin/als line 33"

Attached patch fixes it. To reproduce:

1. Make sure you have $LANG set to something like en_AU.UTF-8
2. Run als, observed crash
3. Apply patch
4. Rejoice; als now works correctly

* symlink to /usr/bin/atool
