   * What led up to the situation?
	Normal usage, opening high resolution images that looked good
	before in Ristretto now display horribly. See this forum thread

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
	I tried all menu options, nothing can be done to fix it in
	Ristretto itself.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
   	No improvement.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
   	Normal rendering as in previous versions of the
	package.

thanks for the report. I agree the situation isn't optimal. I'll see about
backporting the relevant patch (which looks pretty small) and do a stable
upload for the next point release.

I've looked at the thread and tried to look at images with and without
smoothing, with and without rendering limit, in 0.13.3 vanilla and with the
patch on top, and to be honest I'm not really convinced it's that much of an
issue (at least with my own eyes on my own installation).

If upstream changes things I'm fine to follow them but
- I'll wait for an upstream release to upload to unstable and let it migrate
to testing
- Once that happens, I'll see if it's worth backporting the patch to the
0.13.3-1 version in Trixie and maybe ask for a stable upload.

Meanwhile if it really bother you there's always the workaround not not limit
rendering or not enable smoothing.
