Comments/Problems:

The installation involved upgrading from Debian Bookworm (12.12) to
Debian Trixie (13.2). It was carried out in accordance with the Debian
Trixie release notes. The upgrade was completed without any issues. The
boot loader is GRUB 2 in an MBR configuration. The installed desktop
environment (DE) is KDE, with LightDM as the desktop manager.

The first boot with Debian Trixie was successful.

Unfortunately, the newly installed Debian Trixie failed to complete the
subsequent reboots after the initial shutdown. GRUB starts correctly,
loads and starts the kernel image, but the CPU resets after
approximately three seconds into the kernel initialisation sequence,
with no error message. I need to add the 'acpi=off' parameter to make
the kernel complete the boot sequence, which reduces functionality due
to the consequences of 'acpi=off'. To reset the ACPI and make the
computer boot again, I need to remove the battery and unplug the power
adapter for a certain amount of time (note: the internal coin battery
is exhausted and the CMOS/NVS memory relies only on the laptop battery).

Then, usually after the first reboot, the nouveau kernel module
malfunctions and PlasmaShell (KDE6) or its applications slow-down or
freeze with error messages like these:

I suspect that Debian Trixie 13.2 (with Linux Kernel 6.12) does not
support correctly:

1) the computer's ACPI: ACPI is corrupted after the first shutdown or
the first suspend to RAM or hibernation.

2) the computer's the nvidia GPU (GeForce 9600m, alias NVIDIA G96): it
generates error messages and faults

I'm currently booting with the following kernel parameters (note: the
nouveau.noaccel=1 id to minimize erros from nouveau kernel module):

$ cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.12.57+deb13-amd64 root=UUID=<REMOVED> ro
iommu=off trace_clock=global nouveau.noaccel=1

Debian Bookworm was not affected by these issues.
