GNOME has recently archived the gnome-screenshot project which means that bug reports, bug fixes, and translation updates are no longer accepted. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-screenshot GNOME itself hasn't needed gnome-screenshot since GNOME 42. GNOME Screenshot does not even work any more with GNOME 49: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/3760 There are multiple packaged screenshot apps for other desktops. Some highlights: - flameshot - mate-utils provides mate-screenshot. If needed, it could probably be split into a separate binary package - screengrab - shutter - xfce4-screenshooter I'll file blocker bugs for reverse dependencies of gnome-screenshot. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
Hi, cinnamon 6.8 will add a new integrate screenshot tool, I'd rather wait and remove gnome-screenshot from the metapackages in 6.8 than replace it with another program for a few months. Is there a need to remove it first?
