Dear Maintainer,

on many PDF files, the fonts displayed are a bit blurry and hard to
read at smaller font sizes.

The picture attached shows a comparison of the same pdf file with
qpdfview and evince. The more you zoom in the picture attached, the
more you will see the difference. Evince (right side) is sharp and
qpdfview (left side) is not.

I use a screen resolution of 3840 × 2160.

Thank you
Markus

Hello,

The only way I can reproduce this issue is by unticking the "Use device
pixel ratio" option (Edit > Settings > Graphics).

Can you confirm this fixes your issue?

Hello,

happy to confirm.

But please note that the box being unticked is the default setting on my
installation. If I use the button to get default settings for the
current tab, it gets unticked.

Should it not be ticked by default?

Best wishes
Markus

about this option to start changing it, as it might have adverse
effects? Since upstream uses this default, that's what Debian uses too.

I suggest you raise this issue with upstream though:
https://launchpad.net/qpdfview

If it turns out upstream says the default should be changed, I'll be
happy to add a patch to the Debian package.

Cheers,
