  Description     : DECtalk-compatible speech synthesizer emulator for
Raspberry Pi

RPItalk is a hardware speech synthesizer emulator intended for use on
Raspberry Pi systems. It emulates the command protocol of a DECtalk
speech synthesizer and provides speech output using Speech Dispatcher
and eSpeak NG.

The emulator allows a screen reader that expects a DECtalk device
connected via a serial port to operate without modification. RPItalk
exposes a serial interface and runs as a systemd user service, making
it suitable for assistive technology and accessibility use cases.

I use and maintain this software myself. I plan to maintain it as a
single-maintainer package and would welcome co-maintainers. I will
require a Debian sponsor for uploads.
