This theme has been practically abandoned upstream. Quoting the README:
THE PROJECT HAS VERY LIMITED SUPPORT
NO NEW FEATURES ARE IN THE WORKS
MOST BUGS WILL GO UNFIXED
HELP REQUESTS WILL BE IGNORED

Yes, like powelevel9k as well but a zsh theme should not require a lot of upstream maintenance once finished.
A real problem I stumbled upon is, that it downloads a gitstatus binary. Gitstatus itself is hard to package as it depends on an old libgit2. 🙁

Dear all,

while it was straightforward to package powerlevel10k it was
inacceptable that it downloads a gitstatusd binary.
Packaging gitstatus would require to heavily patch it to work with
current libgit2. Therefore I give up on this and just sent a request to
retitle from ITP to RFP.
