With grub 2.14 I get a default 640x480 resolution while it was much less than that
with grub 2.12. without having anything set in GRUB_GFXMODE in /etc/default/grub

On a large monitor the actual default value is not acceptable!

See bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1119955

Trying to get back to 1920x1080 via GRUB_GFXMODE=1920x1080 The system
was unbootable while still not having the desired resolution. I have no clue on how
to get possible resolution for EFI framebuffers so maybe the value is incorrect but still.

I had to manually reinstall which is painfull due to bug

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1119959

Both bugs have been open since early november and nothing fixed! What the use of
providing alpha version to test and taking time to report bugs?

The board is fairly recent B650E Taichi Lite from 2023, BIOS 12/05/2023
but I wonder if the regression in video is not due to this patch...
