Please note that freecad as well as most other packages have moved on to
pyside6. There is only one reverse dep left: email-reminder, which
already has an upstream patch to move to pyside6.

So pyside2 should be removed from forky.

will cause freecad to be removed from testing, which confuses me. Can
you explain what you mean by "freecad as well as most other packages
have moved on to pyside6". What you descrive do not appear to have
happened yet.

See the bug that is blocking this bug. freecad was fixed in Debian
with a "team" upload but that was reverted by its primary maintainer.
email-reminder is fixed now, so it's only freecad that is blocking the
removal of pyside2.

pyside6 is currently RC buggy, it causes freecad to FTBFS. see bug
#1131536

Once that has been fixed, I'm going to give it another stab to see if
the issues that I've experienced with the previous attempt to QT6 have
been solved.

How did your testing go. FreeCAD was just removed from testing due to
this wishlist issue and the underlying state of byside2 tracked in
#1129099. Perhaps the severity of this issue should be raised to RC?
