As noted in https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1126915
the internal name of the font has been changed to Charis from Charis SIL.

Documents that have used the older name will now view the font
Charis SIL as missing, and a fallback font will be used.

Previously, there was a fonts-sil-charissil package.
Maybe the older v6.200 fonts can go into that package,
and the newer v7.000 fonts into this package.
