Hi!

htop does not currently recognize some newer settings for the TERM
environment variable that indicate the emulator has true color
support.[1] With setting "xterm-direct" for instance the application
falls back to something less than 256 colors, making some themes hard or
impossible to read; htop should accept those settings and infer that at
least 256 colors are supported.

thanks for the suggestion, I have forwarded it upstream:

This is a request for extending htop functionality, so nothing we do in
Debian but a task for upstream development.
