Dear Maintainer,

I installed pan, started it, tried to add a server, but when clicking OK
on the Add a Server window, pan just freezes and has to be forcibly
closed.

Everything works fine in debian 12, the issue only started in debian 13.

I can't reproduce this problem.

Could you send a screenshot of the server widget just before clicking OK ?

Could you try with running 'pan --debug' in a terminal and show us the output ?

The server you entered in the video is intentionally bogus
("put.anything.here").

I've tried to reproduce this issue with pan 0.162 on Debian/sid, with KDE and
wayland, to no avail.

Please try again with an actual news server (e.g. news.gmane.io).

I've done some testing.

On a new clean installation of debian 13, xfce as desktop environment,
installed using debian-13.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso and selecting xfce, pan
freezes because no popup appears to unlock a keyring. The installation
of pan happens after the first login to the computer after installing
debian.

On a debian 13 xfce live cd (debian-live-13.4.0-amd64-xfce.iso), pan
does not freeze, because a popup to unlock keyring appears after trying
to add a server. The popup says "Unlock Login Keyring" followed by
"Authentication required The login keyring did not get unlocked when you
logged into your computer."

It does not matter what the server URL is, it can be a made up URL or
news.gmane.io, the result is the same.

This might be a bigger issue that doesn't affect just pan, but pan is
the first app that ran into this problem. I do not know how to proceed
further.
