Package: src:linux Version: 6.1.164-1 Severity: normal File: linux-image-6.1.0 Dear Maintainer, On Debian 12.13, the VNC screen fails to refresh after loading the AST driver during startup. After adding the kernel boot parameter nomodeset, the VNC interface no longer freezes or fails to refresh. Comparing the two states, the AST driver is not loaded for this VGA device. 0000:02:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ASPEED Technology, Inc. ASPEED Graphics Family [1a03:2000] (rev 52) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) The system is actually running normally, and I can log in via SSH. If I install linux-image-6.1.0-39-amd64, the issue persists. But if I install linux-image-6.1.0-33-amd64, there is no problem. Compared to the older version, the drm/ast driver includes this additional patch: - drm/ast: Find VBIOS mode from regular display size I tried removing this patch and rebuilding the AST driver, but it didn't help...
