varying content.

Please ensure that shared files have bit-identical content across
architectures, move architecture-dependent files to
architecture-dependent paths or remove the Multi-Arch: same field.

This is probably caused by varying dependencies during the binNMU.
Probably we just need to reschedule a binNMU.

Looking into the data, I see that 1.8.21+dfsg-1 has the same content
across architectures whereas 1.8.21+dfsg-1+b1 has unique hashes per
architecture.

To me, this smells like the binNMU problem where the binNMU timestamp
(and therefore SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH) is different for each build. I have
just been working on this particular problem and sent a proposal towards
the wanna-build team.

If my hypothesis is correct, a sourceful upload would make the problem
go away.

Given that gap-browse is only really useful in combination with gap-core
and gap-core is not M-A:same, I suggest dropping M-A:same as a
short-term solution.

could install /usr/bin/gap for two distinct architectures at the same
time. That doesn't work.

And with /usr/bin/gap being an executable for one architecture that is
the one loading the object files from gap-browse, there is little point
in installing gap-browse for an architecture that differs from
gap-core's. Now if you cannot install gap-core for multiple
architectures, you also get little benefit of coinstalling gap-browse.

This is not a quest to make everything Multi-Arch: something. We're
trying to add that support where it is beneficial and I'm not quite
seeing the benefit here. The most common use of Multi-Arch: same is with
shared library packages used by several programs.
