Dear Maintainer,

I'm opening that issue on behalf of Bjarni Ingi Gislason <bjarniig@simnet.is>
who's E-Mails are said to be blocked somehow.

Dear Maintainer,

  Don't file bugs upstream

If you file a bug in Debian, don't send a copy to the upstream software
maintainers yourself, as it is possible that the bug exists only in
Debian. If necessary, the maintainer of the package will forward the
   bug upstream.

-.-

For forwarding bug reports to upstream see:

https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#forward

-.-

I do not send reports upstream if I have to get an account there.
The Debian maintainers have one already.

If I get a negative (or no) response from upstream, I send henceforth
bugs to Debian.

-.-

   * What led up to the situation?

  info sed

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Segmentation fault info sed

Return value is 139.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

     no core dump

-.-

 INFOPATH=/usr/local/share/info:/usr/share/info:...

  Using "info -f sed.info" works.

  File "sed.info.gz is in /usr/share/info/sed.info.gz

Hello Bjarni,

Of course I'm unable to reproduce the issue, neither on arm64 nor on an
unstable amd64 in a chroot.

1. Does the issue only occur for sed or for any info page you call?
2. Could you post your file /usr/share/info/dir ?

Hello,

according to upstream this issue was solved in a commit. Unfortunately I
can't test that patch. For now I mark that issue as solved in upstream
and will test it before new release.

Hello Bjarni,

We now have gettext 0.26 in Debian experimental, I had the chance to
build the texinfo git and I can confirm that the issue is solved.

The tag fixed-upstream tag is set, I can't do anything more, than
waiting for a next patch release.
