Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
Installed extra drives in a system so it is exceeding the /dev/sda...sdz range
the extra drives show up as /dev/sdaa.../dev/sdai
For the extra drives gsmartcontrol shows all partitions (/dev/sdaa1, /dev/sdaa2 etc) in the gui as drives.
To me this seems like a parsing problem for many drive systems.
That may be worrying, and why I chose to set the severity to important.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I did not do anything to be honest
* What was the outcome of this action?
Irrelevant since I did not do anything.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
If my hypotesis is correct, I would expect gsmartctrl to be smarter with how it scans devices.
