notify-osd is unused in Debian and it is unmaintained. Therefore, I
don't think it should be included in Debian 14.

It looks like notify-osd is currently included in Ubuntu Unity, so it
may be useful to keep it in Debian until Ubuntu is no longer using it.

notify-osd is an implementation of notification-daemon. There are many
alternatives, often integrated into desktop environments. For a list,
run this command and look through the Reverse Provides:
apt-cache showpkg notification-daemon

notification-daemon itself is also a real package but it might be
removed from Debian too since it is unmaintained. See
