Dear Maintainer,

The presence of the package maliit-inputcontext-qt6 makes the lightweight editor 'Featherpad' segfault on Lomiri.

Test image: A live image of Lomiri for sid, available via https://openqa.debian.net/tests/516832/asset/iso/lomiri_sid_20260428T020800Z.iso

Detailed information and debugging information are in the attached file.

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus

I think we should have maliit-framework stop recommending
maliit-inputcontext-qt6 for now to mitigate this bug. Nothing else is
recommending or depending on that package.

Unfortunately, there is no upstream for maliit-framework's qt6 support
since it's only an unmerged pull request upstream.

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha

Hi Jeremy,

Without this package, Morph Browser will not trigger the on-scree
keyboard in Lomiri.

I'd rather drop the featherpad editor and replace it by some other
editor that works better with lomiri-keyboard, but does not pull in to
many unrelated dependencies.

My 5¢
Mike

Ok, another workaround I figured out yesterday is to hide the
environment variable QT_IM_MODULE=maliit from featherpad so I'll look
into doing that instead.

Control: affects -1 src:featherpad

I've submitted https://salsa.debian.org/lxqt-team/featherpad/-/merge_requests/20

Currently, we aren't aware of any other affected apps, but I
personally hardly run Qt 6 apps besides the Lomiri apps.

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha
