I intend to salvage the libpodofo package as per the Package Salvaging procedure described in section 5.13 of the Developers' Reference. For more info, please see https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.en.html#package-salvaging Rationale: - The last 4 uploads were NMUs. - The last maintainer upload was in 2022. - There are multiple outstanding bugs that have not been answered in several years, mainly security issues and new upstream versions (#1036938).
The package is nearly ready for upload, only thing left is d/copyright cleanup and potentially some further repacking. Current progress is at https://salsa.debian.org/Maytha8/libpdofo

I can't find the repository you mention above. Salsa returns 404 (and seeking for libpdofo fails as well) Moreover I wonder whether you might want to maintain this package in https://wiki.debian.org/DebianCommons I assume you found a fix for #1133527 and hopefully for the open CVEs. Kind regards Andreas.
Hi Andreas, Sorry, package name typo. See https://salsa.debian.org/Maytha8/libpodofo See the commit history for what I've fixed (which I believe is most if not all the open bugs if I remember correctly). d/copyright is the only problem remaining and I haven't had (and still do not) have time to fix it. Thanks, Maytham
Hi Maytham, Am Mon, Aug 10, 2026 at 01:41:03PM +0800 schrieb Maytham Alsudany: Argh - I could have guessed this. If you ask me its a good idea to force-push to the Debian team repository and upload. Thank you for the update. I was running $ tagpending tagpending info: tagging these bugs pending: 1136158 on your repository. Please consider Debian Commons team anyway once you finished d/copyright (not sure what exactly you want to fix bit I consider lrc a great tool to see what's wrong. If you would have pushed to https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libpodofo I would have pushed some changes fixing lrc issues. Kind regards Andreas.
Hello, I just want to say thank you for taking this package on, that I clearly badly abandoned. I haven't looked at what you proposed to upload, just want to say please close attention to the symbols here. They cleaned up quite a lot of cruft in that department, but just this package tends to leak quite a lot of c++ internals otherwise… That really shouldn't be. Besides that, good luck and thank you again!
