Hi,
$ apt showsrc cl-ftp | grep ^Vc
Vcs-Browser: https://github.com/pinterface/cl-ftp
Vcs-Git: https://github.com/pinterface/cl-ftp.git
This repository has only upstream code but no debian/ dir.
I'd happily help in migrating the packaging to Debian team on Salsa.
Kind regards
Andreas.
I'm thinking about removing it, not sure anyone uses it anymore. I'm actually the original author (2002) but it was taken over about 10 years ago by pinterface when I was busy with RL.
Hi Matthew,
Thank you for your prompt response.

That's perfectly fine for me - but its upon you as the Maintainer to do
so.
If you think it might have some value to have the packaging in some
Git repository on Salsa I'd volunteer to migrate it to Debian team
before removing. If not feel free to reassign this bug by
Control: retitle -1 RM: cl-ftp -- RoM; <your reason for removal>
Control: reassign -1 ftp.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:cl-ftp
Kind regards
Andreas.
Ok, I found that there may be a small number of users. If you are willing to help me bring it into Salsa then I'll gladly accept your assistance. Thanks!
Hi Matthew, Am Fri, Jun 12, 2026 at 10:44:21AM +0200 schrieb Matthew Danish: I realised that Ondřej Nový (in CC) even created a repository on Salsa featuring possibly the latest Git commit which was declared as version 1.6.1. I included the NMU which was done meanwhile and did some further small changes in this repository where I would like you to have a look: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/cl-ftp I think Ondřej was right to bump the version but there is no upstream tag for this. So I think the first step would be that you tag the latest upstream version on Github. The watch file which I fixed in Salsa assumes that those tags are starting with the string "VERSION_". Once this tagging is done we can import this latest version into the Debian packaging repository. Now its up to you to decide: * Do you want to do the actual upload yourself (as DD you inherited push permissions)? * Do you want me to NMU the package? * If the answer to the latter question is yes, do you want to do uploads in future or would you prefer to rather orphan the package and I should do a QA upload. Kind regards and thank you for the cooperation Andreas.
I think I will move the upstream repo back to my copy on github (github.com/mrd/cl-ftp) and then I'll tag a new version. I'll upload that once it is done. Sorry, just super busy this week.
Hi Matthew,
just take your time and let me know if I could be of any help.
Kind regards
Andreas.
