Dear Maintainer, I sometimes disagree with Debian developers that wants me to report bugs directly to the application developers. As a user, the Debian bug tracking system is a major improvement because it centralizes bug reporting. Moreover, the "upstream" checkbox has not been created just for fun. But I also understand that some Debian developers don’t want to just be proxies between users and application developers. I know at least two developers who do not want to be proxies. I suggest, if the Debian developer checks the right checkbox, that a bug with the upstream check box ticked is automagically forwarded to the upstream developers. The Debian developer who do not want to be a proxy just fills in what is needed, checks the right check box and poof, he now just has eventually to check is the bug has been fixed upstream (maybe this can be automatized too). Yours, nicolas
