Current versions of OVMF support a QEMU_PV_VARS mechanism. This
allows qemu to pass in UEFI vars without using the OVMF_VARS.fd
mechanism; it also allows avoiding SMM in the emulated firmware.

This support is disabled by default. Please consider enabling it in
OVMF.
