Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
I have a disk with about 20 partitions and about 10 varieties of Linux installed.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I attempted to install from the debian-testing netinst ISO (forky) on one of the partitions
* What was the outcome of this action?
Installation proceeded normally until the installer tried to install grub; this failed and so left my system unbootable
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Normal installation completion and a bootbale system
