An issue has been observed with makedumpfile v1.7.6 in Debian 13 during kdump. The generated crash dump can become unexpectedly large (more than 60 GB) because some page types, particularly Slab and HugeTLB pages, are not identified correctly. As a result, pages that should be excluded by makedumpfile are included in the dump.



The issue appears to be related to page-type handling introduced for newer Linux kernels. In makedumpfile v1.7.6, the page type is handled using additional bitwise calculations, while v1.7.7 directly compares `_mapcount` with the corresponding `PAGE_*_MAPCOUNT_VALUE`.



We tested makedumpfile v1.7.7 on the same setup, and the dump is generated correctly with the expected reduced size.



Debian 13 currently provides makedumpfile v1.7.6. Kindly consider the relevant fix from makedumpfile v1.7.7 to Debian 13.
