severity: important Hi, We could safely remove depends on sse2-support and drop this package now it is baseline I plan to drop this package for forky rouca
Currently the texlive-binaries-sse2 package provides binaries, which can only exit on 4 arches. Merging it back into texlive-binaries makes texlive-binaries uninstallable on nearly all arches. Are you sure this is desired? Or do you want me to drop dep on *sse2-support*? The version specification in your bug report looks weird. Hi Hilmar, SSE2 is, in trixie and newer, part of the architecture baseline on all supported x86 architectures (amd64 + i386). Thus the dependency on sse2-support is unnecessary in trixie and newer. I *think* Bastien asks for you to remove the Dependency on sse2-support, so he can later remove that package. The package split in your package does not need to change. Best, Chris

Will normally (bit need to cross check) the job

OK, you are right, the split was just done to make sure non-sse2 capable systems do not get *jit* binaries, meanwhile i386 in general can run *jit* binaries. I've dropped the dep on sse2-support, will think about package merge later. Hilmar 13.08.2026 12:29:49 Chris Hofstaedtler <zeha@debian.org>:
Hello, I'd like to upload another revision ASAP. I see there an active thread running with subject "expected baseline changes for forky" , but I don't follow it to closely. Could it have an impact on this bug report or may I upload? Hilmar 13.08.2026 11:23:49 Bastien Roucaries <rouca@debian.org>:
