Hi,

We could safely remove depends on sse2-support and drop this package now it is baseline

I plan to drop this package for forky

Currently the texlive-binaries-sse2 package provides binaries, which can only exit on 4 arches. Merging it back into texlive-binaries makes texlive-binaries uninstallable on nearly all arches. Are you sure this is desired? Or do you want me to drop dep on *sse2-support*?

The version specification in your bug report looks weird.

Hi Hilmar,

SSE2 is, in trixie and newer, part of the architecture baseline on
all supported x86 architectures (amd64 + i386).

Thus the dependency on sse2-support is unnecessary in trixie and
newer.

I *think* Bastien asks for you to remove the Dependency on
sse2-support, so he can later remove that package. The package split
in your package does not need to change.

Best,
Chris

May be renamed to texlive-binaries-jit will be now better

OK, you are right, the split was just done to make sure non-sse2 capable systems do not get *jit* binaries, meanwhile i386 in general can run *jit* binaries.

I've dropped the dep on sse2-support, will think about package merge later.

Hello,

I'd like to upload another revision ASAP. I see there an active thread running with subject

"expected baseline changes for forky"

, but I don't follow it to closely. Could it have an impact on this bug report or may I upload?
