I have problems with the jupyter lab client. Obviously it is running into an
endless loop.

After starting the server with `jupyter lab` in my notebook directory, the web
browser comes up and loads jupyter lab. The logo animation works but
afterwards, the window hangs showing the logo. When I click into the window
Firefox complains about the website slowing down my computer.

In the javascript console I found the following:
